Dead And Beyond (Ancient Legends #4) by Jayde Scott

Amber Reed is a dead girl walking.

Having just been turned by her gorgeous vampire boyfriend, eighteen-year-old Amber Reed is bestowed with the ability to see ghosts. Between trying to figure out how to control her bloodlust and solving the mysterious disappearance of a friend, Amber realizes someone wants to step into her shoes so badly, they’ll do anything to take her place.

When one secret after another pops up, the only person who believes her is her enemy, Devon. Amber can’t figure out if he’s here to help or save his own immortal race from losing the ancient war against the vampires. What she does know, however, is that she can’t resist his good looks just as much as she can’t help becoming someone else…

In a world of dark magic and ancient enemies, three powerful courts fight for supremacy, and Amber might just be the pawn in winning this war forever. But how’s a girl to survive when everyone wants her dead?

My Review:

First I have to admit this is the first book I’ve ever read by Jayde Scott, while I was reading Dead And Beyond I realized that I was reading a book that was part of a series. This did not deter me and Jayde Scott’s writing was great and I never really had a problem understanding what was going on. I still cannot believe I had not read any of her books. But I will be reading every book in this series. Jayde Scott is an amazing author and this series is great.

Dead And Beyond we meet Amber who is a vampire and a necromancer. Being new to this world she is still trying to figure everything out. Spending time with her true mate Aiden, she is happy and is very much in love. But recently Aiden has been distracted with his own duties and Amber is struggling with bloodlust and ghosts. Looking for answers she talks to an old friend about what has been going with her and also tries to find out about her missing friend Angel.

Amber and Aiden both keeping secrets from each other does cause some problem and Amber jumps to some conclusion which leads her to doubt his love for her.

Jayde Scott’s Dead and Beyond is fast paced, easy to read story and I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to read the rest of this series.
I would recommend this to everyone who loves the paranormal genre, only thing I would suggest is to start with Book One A Job From Hell.

Welcome Jayde to my Blog!

Where are you from?

I’m British, but I’ve lived all over the world. So I consider myself a bit of a nomad. My home’s wherever my heart is.

Tell us your latest news?

m currently in the process of migrating and learning a new language, which is tough but also a very interesting experience.

When and why did you begin writing?

 I'

As soon as I could spell. I used to read a lot of romance novels (think Barbara Cartland and Sandra Brown) and rewrite the ending.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

Because I used to spend most of my spare time writing, I’ve always considered myself a writer at heart.  When I became published, I just changed my status from querying/unpublished to published.

What inspired you to write your first book?
It was a novel called The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice. I loved that book so much, I couldn’t wait to start working on my own vampire novel. That one’s still gathering dust in some drawer.

Do you have a specific writing style?

Like most writers, I do. I prefer first person past tense and have a tendency toward description and sarcasm. My first draft tends to be rather verbose, but I have an editor who’s not afraid to cut.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Ghosts exist and they’re not always good…or so I believe.

How much of the book is realistic?

The haunting poltergeist parts are based on research, so I’d say that’s pretty realistic.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

My romantic chick-lit novel, The Divorce Club, is pretty much based on my own experiences with dating and cheating. But I tend to stay away from heavy topics in my paranormal romance series, Ancient Legends. So, Dead And Beyond is pretty much fantasy, but I wouldn’t mind meeting a handsome, blue-eyed vampire like Aidan though.

What books have most influenced your life most?

Definitely The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Tolkien has taught me so much about description and character development, he’s basically shaped my writing. Also Anne Rice. Without her inspiring books, it might have taken me a while to realize that writing about vampires, fallen angels and demons is what I want to do in life.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Tough one, but I’d have to go with Tolkien.

What book are you reading now?

I’m currently reading and editing my new scifi novel, which is the first book in a new series, which shall be out by September. Editing takes so much time that I don’t have the time or energy to read anything else.
What are your current projects?

The fifth book in the Ancient Legends series, Forever And Beyond, which follows Amber and introduces a few new paranormal elements and lots of dark magic and betrayal.

Do you see writing as a career?

Definitely. I see it as a job and try to treat it as such. However, most of the time it doesn’t really work because life and other commitments come in between.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I think it’s always been there. I loved books as a child, particularly their smell, and begged my mother to teach me to read before I started school. Whenever I loved a book, I would reread it countless times to remember the passages that fascinated me. And then I would try to write something similar.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?
My most recent book is Dead And Beyond, which is a paranormal romance slash mystery. Having just been turned by her vampire boyfriend, eighteen-year-old Amber Reed is bestowed with the ability to see ghosts. Between trying to figure out how to control her bloodlust and solving the mysterious disappearance of a friend, Amber realizes someone wants to step into her shoes so badly, they'll do anything to take her place.

When one secret after another pops up, the only person who believes her is her enemy, Devon. Amber can't figure out if he's here to help or save his own immortal race from losing the ancient war against the vampires. What she does know, however, is that she can't resist his good looks just as much as she can't help becoming someone else...

In a world of dark magic and ancient enemies, three powerful courts fight for supremacy, and Amber might just be the pawn in winning this war forever. But how's a girl to survive when everyone wants her dead?

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Not editing while I write. It takes me forever to finish a chapter because I’m a compulsive perfectionist who keeps rewriting and tweaking until I feel everything’s the way I want it to be. I know you shouldn’t edit while you write but I just can’t help myself.
Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

I’d say Tolkien and his talent for world building and fantastic characters. He can fill page after page with the most beautiful description and prose.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Writing the last chapter. I always get emotional and have a hard time finishing the last chapter.

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
Don’t wait for inspiration to find you. Write even when you don’t feel like it.

Do you have any advice for other writers?
See above. Also, continue to work on improving your style and prose.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Thank you so much for reading my books J

ReVamped by Ada Adams

ReVamped (Angel Creek #1) by Ada Adams

Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.

When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.

My Review:

ReVamped (Angel Creek, #1)ReVamped by Ada Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ReVamped ( Angel Creek #1)by Ada Adams

Ada Adams bring us a new and fresh look into the lives of vampires, it is refreshing, funny at times and well written. The words flowed easily, character descriptions were excellent, and you got to know each character well. All in all I would say this was an excellent read.

We are introduced to Dawn; she is the daughter of the President of the Vampires. In this novel Vampires are out and almost treated like we treat movie stars today. They are sought after, respected and envied by most, but of course there are some people who don’t feel the same way. Dawn is a Born vampire; Born vampires are special and have greater powers, being that both her parents are vampires. Dawn has trained her whole life and is a strong, independent young woman.

Dawn’s father sends her to a small town called Angel Creek to train a group of vampires who are going to become the town’s protectors. Dawn is so happy that her father finally trusts her enough to send her out on a mission and can’t wait to begin training. When Dawn arrives in town she gathers the vampires and realizes she is going to have to work very hard to get this group trained.

Here we are introduced to some new characters and all I will say is it almost appears that Dawn’s new group would fall under the category of the misfit vampires. Of course nothing goes smoothly for Dawn, a human is kidnapped, Dawn herself is almost taken and she realizes there is more going on in this small town of Angel Creek then appeared.

Dawn and her group of trainee’s work together to protect the town and find the girl and of course keep themselves safe at the same time. There is also some romance lurking in this story for Dawn we meet Ethan who is human and Sebastian who is a vampire with many secrets. Both of course are extremely good looking and Dawn who has never even been kissed doesn’t always know how to act around these two.

ReVamped is a great addition to the YA Paranormal genre, I have rated it a 4 out 5 and would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys reading about vampires. Ada Adam has brought us a new and fresh series for us to follow and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

“Many people sing in the shower. I write scenes in my head and act them out.”

At the age of five, Ada read her first chapter book. Ever since that moment, she developed an intense passion for stories and characters found within the pages of literature.

In her career as an actress and a writer, Ada currently spends most of her days immersed in imaginary worlds. Much like the characters she enjoys playing and writing about, Ada is a martial artist with a Black Belt in Shotokan Karate. She is also a big proponent of lifelong learning, and has attained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (it aids in creating characters with unique quirks!) as well as a Master’s of Science in Education.

Ada strives to bring a fresh voice and perspective to fiction. She has been writing creatively for many years, and is an editor of a global fashion/literary magazine called VEUX. She lives in Toronto, Canada, and enjoys adventurous nature hikes with her adorable puppies Cara and Oreo.

Now, enjoy the interview!

1.      Did you always want to be a writer? And what inspired you to write?

Ever since I learned to read, I’ve had a great passion for creating my own stories. There is something so intimate and magical about reading other authors’ works and getting a glimpse into their minds. I was inspired to explore my own (very overactive!) imagination and write stories about the characters that lurked in there.

2.      How would you describe ReVamped?

“ReVamped” tells a story of a vampire girl, Dawn, who is responsible for revamping a group of misfits (think about everything you know about vampires and then reverse it and you get this gang). Upon Dawn’s arrival to a small town of Angel Creek, she realizes that there is a lot more going on than meets the eye. Throw in a couple of hot guys, an evil villain, and some big secrets from the past, and Dawn soon finds out that she’s in for a lot more than she bargained for.

3.      Which character you had most fun writing?

I enjoyed writing each character for different reasons. I spent most time with Dawn, of course, as she’s the protagonist of the story. I really liked to see her grow from a sheltered vampire girl into someone much stronger and more independent. It was always my intention to leave room for more growth in future installments of the series, so I’m excited to continue that journey with her. I adored writing the scenes with the misfits—they kept me laughing all the time. Even though on the surface, they can be quite stereotypical at times, they are characters with a lot of depth. I look forward to exploring the layers of their personalities and backgrounds in future “Angel Creek” books.

4.      What was your main source of inspiration for the story?

I was intrigued by our society’s obsession with vampires. I wanted to explore what would happen if, enticed by our love for them, vampires decided that it was safe to “come out of the coffin” and live in our world. I figured that we would most likely treat them like celebrities. However, I never wanted to tell a story about perfect vampires. After all, we already have so many great books about such strong, smart, and sexy beings. Therefore, I focused on writing about the misfits—vampires who weren’t really great at the whole “vamp thing”.

5.      What should readers expect from ReVamped?

I hope that readers will see it as a fun and entertaining story—something a little different. It has a lot of humor and some interesting twists and turns. I wanted to write a story about vampires, but at the same time, I really wanted them to have various human characteristics. They deal with issues of the paranormal kind, but they also have many human problems. Initially, I thought that the entire series would be very lighthearted and fun, however I’m finding as the story progresses and the characters grow and change, there are some very intense, serious, and heartbreaking moments. I’m excited to see how the characters will evolve with the story, and hope that the readers will join me on that journey throughout the rest of the series.

6.      How did you come up with the title of your book?

“ReVamped” was “ReVamped” from the beginning! It was initially a script for a TV show pilot, and since it was about a group of misfit vampires undergoing some major changes, “ReVamped” worked well. Once I decided to turn it into a novel, I began seeking out a new name. Throughout the first few drafts, I kept coming back to “ReVamped”. It was what I had associated the book and the story with from the start.

  1. What are your current projects?
I’m currently working on “ReAwakened”, the next book in the “Angel Creek” series. I wish to do my best to deliver the series to my readers in a timely manner. I also have a few other projects which are currently in the plotting stages.

  1. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in writing your book?
I think that I was most surprised to discover that my characters had a life of their own. Their personalities, motivations, and moods greatly influenced the direction that the story went in. It was wonderful when the protagonists did it, but in one instance, a villain’s actions caused a lot of grief for poor Dawn. I hadn’t originally intended to take the story in that direction, but my villain had other plans!

  1. Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
I love hearing from my readers! Most find me on Twitter @Ada_Adams and chat with me about their thoughts on the book and the characters. Some threaten to kidnap my computer if I don’t release the sequel soon! For me, the best part of being a writer (aside from having a somewhat valid excuse for interacting with imaginary characters), is getting to know my readers! :)

  1. Any last thoughts or words of wisdom you would like to share with the readers?
If you’re checking out Tana’s book blog, you probably have a great passion for reading, so I hope you always carry that with you! Books are very special, as are the authors and readers who pour their souls into them. If you do read “ReVamped”, I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you very much for having me on your blog today! :)

He's afraid to tell anyone. No one would believe him ... because it was a dream. Just like the one he had four years ago - the day before his dad died.

Charlie doesn't know why this is happening. He would give anything to have an ordinary life. The problem: he doesn't belong in the world he knows as home.

He belongs with the others.

MY REVIEW:

Talisman of El (Talisman of El #1) by Alecia Stone

The Talisman of El is a beautifully written YA Fantasy/Adventure novel, Alecia Stone’s writing is fantastic, the character development, the plot are well written, her words flow easily and once you start reading the Talisman of El you are hooked.

Charlie is a 14 year old boy, who has experienced many traumatic events in his young life, his parent’s death, living in an orphanage, and then finally getting adopted. Thinking now he is finally going to be able to live a normal life and be happy. Finding out his adoptive dad Jacob is a criminal and wants to use Charlie to help him is not something Charlie expected. Then to make matters worse when Charlie enters his new school he makes some enemies pretty fast, thank god for Alex who ends up one of his closest friends. Because of Jacob and his illegal activities Charlie ends up meeting some more friends and we are introduced to Richmond and Derkein.

Together Charlie and his friends set out to find the world of Arcadia and the adventure begins. This is one of those books when you put it down you know you have to get back to it to see what happens next. True adventure novel.

The Talisman of El is a great read, and I would recommend to any of my friends who love fantasy and adventure this is the novel for them. Alecia Stone has done a terrific job introducing us to the world of Arcadia, and I cannot wait to read book 2 in this new series.

Silver Knight Blog Tour

Silver KnightSilver Knight by Caron Rider

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book Description:

When seventeen-year-old Diana recognizes an elderly priest in a video on YouTube, she realizes that reincarnation is real and that she’s been alive before! Every night in her dreams, she relives her past learning that it’s kill or be killed. Now a bishop at the Vatican whom she saved in another life calls on her once more. She is needed to help defeat evil within the catacombs of Rome. But when she arrives in Rome, she meets Alexander – the man of her dreams! Through the centuries she has loved him…betrayed him...been killed by him. Will she give him another chance or this time will she strike first?

My Review:

Caron Rider has given us a unique story about a young woman who been reincarnated. Silver Knight is well written, the plot and character description are excellent. This story is fast paced, full of mystery, demons, warriors and of course reincarnation. All of this combined gives us one fascinating story. I really enjoyed Caron Rider writing and cannot wait to read book 2 in this series.

Silver Knight is about a young woman named Diana who experiences nightmares of herself being killed many times over; each dream leaves her with more details around what has happened. We are introduced to Alexander in her dreams where he is the one killing her, conflicted Diana can tell she is in love with this man and senses at times he loves her just as much.

One evening Diana and her friends are watching a YouTube video and she recognizes the man in the video from her dreams. In this video he is calling all the warriors to come together. Everything starts to click for Diana at this point and she realizes her dreams may have some truth to them. Contacting the man in the video Diana and her friends head off to Rome making a pit stop in New York. Here we are introduced to other characters and this story just gets more fascinating. We learn Diana is a warrior, and Alexander a demon. Present time when Alex and Diana meet up he does inform Diana that he doesn’t’ want to kill her anymore…..All I can say you must go read and see for yourself.

The relationship between Diana and Alexander is fantastic and Caron Rider has done a terrific job writing this unique story around reincarnation, demons and warriors. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series to see where it leads us to next.

I would recommend to any of my friends who enjoy reading YA Paranormal novels. I will definitely be reading Silver Demon (book 2) when it’s released later in the year.

About the author:

Cover Reveal - Fallenmore (Feathermore, #2) by Lucy Swing

Silence.

Darkness.

Stillness all around me. There was only the endless blackness that stretched out into infinity and swallowed me whole. I floated, weightless, suspended in a starless universe.

I had fallen, hadn’t I?

I’ve gone to hell.

I didn’t understand when, or how, but I must’ve had become a fallen angel. I would forever live and succumb to the darkness that I felt inside of me. I would roam the mortal realm with a heart filled with hate and destruction.

I moved my arms but I couldn’t see them. It was as if I didn’t exist. I was only mind in this world. Wherever this was. The air around me was thick and I took long, deep breaths, but it only caused the feeling of suffocation to enclose me even more.

I thought of what had happened before I had come here, an attempt at trying to piece it together. How and why I had been the one to end up in this place. My memories were hazy, distant, but they were there. I maneuvered around the fog that kept them hidden but I couldn’t tap into them. They were blocked off.

I allowed myself to wander through my life before any of this happened. My parents. Memories flashed through and I gripped on to each one, holding on to the past. Holding on to the love once filled my heart, yet there was nothing there now. No love, no happiness. It seemed like a distant memory, but why? Why had I fallen? There was a faint noise that sent vibrations all around me. I extended my arms, trying to feel for something. Nothing.

“Hello!” Although I couldn’t see myself, I was able to hear. My voice echoed fiercely but no one responded. It was silent for what felt like forever.

“What are you doing here?” Claire. She sounded distant and muffled. I wanted to call back to her, to ask her to help me, but something stopped me. Something deep inside me made me doubt her, almost hate her.

I tried to move, but I couldn’t really tell if I was moving at all. I just floated.

“I can protect her. She will be safe with me, and most importantly, she will feel no pain.” Blake? Why was Blake here? Or, there? Wherever it was that they were. Did they know each other? Questions gathered in my head, but there was no one around to ask them to. I still screamed them out.

“What is going on? Where are you?!”

There was a warm feeling on my hand and then it spread along my arm, as if the darkness was caressing me softly. I twitched away from it, scared by the feeling it brought. The fear was instantly gone. Left behind was emptiness, I just was; the darkness no longer scared me. I wanted to go where he was. Blake. He would know what to do.

“Michael, you can’t think for one second life will go back to what it once was, can you?” Claire’s voice rippled though my body, awakening a monster.

Michael? Who the hell was Michael?

“Of course it won’t, but it’s not because of me, is it?” He spat out. “It was your hand that killed him.”

Killed him.

Who?

A set of blue eyes flashed before me.

And something inside of me broke. Again.

I saw his face and that was all it took for the pain to come crashing down like a tidal wave. I tried to hold on to his face, to the emotions that were coming across in his eyes, but he was gone, and the glimpse of my own emotions was gone with him. I stared down at my own arms, they way they had been wrapped around his body as he took his last breath. The way his bright eyes had lost their intensity; not even the moon that washed the forest with light could brighten them up. His eyes had moved through my face as if searching for something that would save him. But I couldn’t save him, and his eyes soon stared, lifelessly at the star filled sky above us. He had died in my arms and I had done nothing to stop it. I had nothing to prevent it from happening.

Could I had saved him from the doom that loving me had brought upon him?

I screamed, or at least I thought I was screaming. There was no more sounds coming out from me.

I dug deeper through the memory. I could still feel the weight of his body in my arms. There had been a tear deep inside of me the moment I felt his soul vanish, when he had become just another useless death in Lilith’s game.

Lilith. Who had left him there to die. Who just stood by as Shemer’s sword took the one person I lived for. Who stood by when Claire, my best friend, killed him. Lilith, whom I would have sacrificed it all to, if only to see his face one more time. If me dying meant I would be with him again, that’s what I wanted to do. Where I wanted to be. But I was trapped here.

 Alone.

Doesn't this sound like an excellent read, you know you want it....So you need to read Feathermore (Feathermore #1)

"When the one thing you live for is taken from you, do you let it go or do you fall?
Jade, like any other student at Brushwood High, awaits the start of the school year with a certain measure of dread. Worse, she is being threatened by a voice that only she can hear—a voice that lurks at the edges of her awareness, haunting her and warning her of something unknown. She has always been able to count on her two best friends, Claire and Nate, but can she confide in them now? About this? Would they even believe her?
Life takes a turn for the better when she meets Avan, a darkly handsome new student who, somehow, seems to drown out the voice and make her feel at ease.
But Jade soon comes to realize that good things don’t last forever. When everything spirals out of control, she is shattered by something she never saw coming. Dazed and despairing, she must now overcome tragedy and embrace her true existence and a new but dangerous love. Will she be able to save herself and those she loves, before it’s too late? Or will she let the surrounding darkness consume her?"

The Last Girl Tour - Excerpt & Review

Book Description:

Six years ago strangers broke into Juliette’s house; she was home alone and only thirteen. She kept her eyes closed, praying that if she didn’t see anything, she wouldn’t be killed. No one harmed her. In fact, one of the thieves protected her. Now Juliette’s dreams are haunted by him.

Christian has waited to take her, resisting the urge each night. It always ends badly with human pets. They’re too fragile. The longer he can wait, the better, because the moment he takes her, the clock on her life starts ticking down.

Then she’ll be gone forever.

Warning: This book is dark erotica meant for a mature audience only.

I feel absurd being a nineteen-year-old virgin, a fossil from another time. Part of me is just glad to do the deed and get the fucking thing over. I feel like I’ve got a white V emblazoned on me, or as if I give off some type of scent. I don’t like the idea that something that should be private feels as if it’s somehow being broadcast.

I open the door a little bleary-eyed, my hair still mussed from oversleeping.

“Did I wake you?”

He’s got this stupid grin on his face. And flowers. I want to smack him. I know this is all because I’ve decided to give in and put out after three months of dating. I feel like I should love him if I’m going to do this.

I run my hands self-consciously through my hair.

“You look great,” he says, holding out the flowers.

No I don’t. I know it. He knows it. He’s just so happy to be getting laid tonight that he’s seeing me through horny-guy glasses. I’m still too sleepy to be annoyed.

I put the flowers in a glass of water and slip some flip flops on. It’s Southern Florida. Flip flops are a year-round joy here.

He’s got something romantic planned at the beach. Black cloth goes over my eyes as we get out of the car—a blindfold. I almost panic, but then I realize if I make a fuss, it will invite questions I can never answer. So I smile shakily and allow him to lead me down to the beach. My flip flops are still in the car. I breathe slowly in and out, listening to the waves crash against the shore, inhaling the crisp, salty scent of the sea, feeling the instability of sand collapsing beneath my feet.

“Don’t move. I’ll be right back. I’ve got to get a couple of things.”

I try not to be in that dark closet. I try, but I can’t help it. I’m there again, my eyes squeezed tightly shut, silently begging not to be found, not to be killed. A hand is on my arm again, leading me away and I come out of the fog, remembering I’m here with Devon. Everything’s okay.

“Where are we going?”

“Shhh”

My heart starts to hammer faster in my chest. Then it pounds and vibrates in my head. My entire being is one rapidly thudding heartbeat with no slowdown in sight. Something is wrong here, but I can’t make myself remove the cloth from my eyes.

You’re being ridiculous. It’s just Devon. He has a surprise.

I find myself in the passenger seat of a car. It’s not Devon’s car. I just know. Even blindfolded I know. This is the point where I should rip the scrap of fabric off and run. There is no evidence this person has a weapon, and he or she hasn’t spoken to me yet. But before my hands can move to the blindfold, the driver’s side door is shut and the car has started.

It’s so fast, I assume there must be more than one person involved. Tears gather and absorb into the thick cloth covering my eyes. Terror freezes me, keeping me from taking off the blindfold, from trying to leap out of the car that’s moving too fast now anyway. I’m suddenly thirteen again. The dream is real, and I believe that if I don’t see them, they won’t kill me.

I’m silent and they are silent. The only sound is the wheels scraping against the rough road and the occasional bump. My tears are coming harder now. Why can’t I fight back? Scream? Beg? Try to escape? Just take the fucking blindfold off! But I can’t do it. I may as well be tied up because I’m so scared I don’t know what to do or what to think.

A little while passes and the car stops. Again, too fast for me to react, my door is open and someone is helping me out. How many are there?

I cringe away but find my feet moving in the direction I’m being led. “Don’t hurt me. Please.”

Then I feel stupid. What if it’s Devon? What if this is part of some stupid frat thing he’s gotten himself into? It would be just like him to combine my deflowering with a secret frat party or something.

I expect someone to start giggling or say I’m a spaz, but fingers gently grasps my wrist, lifting my hand. I feel the planes of his face as he guides me to see him. I shake my head in disbelief.

No.

I was good. I didn’t say anything. I didn’t tell anyone anything. This can’t happen. I did what I was supposed to do. But it’s him. It’s my nightmare.

“I missed you, Juliette.”

Christian.

My Review:

The Last Girl

The Last Girl by Kitty Thomas

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read written by Kitty Thomas, her writing is fantastic, her words flowed smoothly, and the plot and character descriptions are well written. Kitty is one fantastic author and gives us a unique dark erotic story.

This story is about Juliette and Christian, Christian is an 800 year old vampire and has waiting 6 years for Juliette to turn of age so he could take her and make her his. It is told in Juliette point of view which I found it easy to read and understand how Juliette was feeling throughout the story. Sometimes it was heart wrenching this is a dark story which contains group sexual activity, sadomasochism, same sex/blood play/oral and anal play and is not for anyone who doesn’t enjoy reading the dark erotica/bdsm genre.

I will say that there is more to this story then just bdsm/erotica you end up feeling for Christian and Juliette sometime you can even see past the master Christian. And of course you feel so much for Juliette and the situation she is in.

I would recommend The Last Girl to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance with dark erotica.
