Book Description:

New beginnings, new conflicts, and new adventures arise in the second installment of the Eden Series, Eden-West.

Months after his initial journey to Eden, Aiden is learning to cope with his own transformation. His social status has changed, his friendship with his best friend Ethan is in jeopardy because of it, and worst of all, he has heard absolutely nothing from his new friends in Eden. What has become of the world he fell in love with? Are his friends safe? Is the war over? With no answers, and no hope for contact, Aiden decides to focus on his life in his world.

Just as he makes this decision, he encounters a familiar bright light and thinks he knows exactly what it means. Except the light isn’t at all what he expects and neither is the person behind it. When Aiden returns to Eden, it is to a whole new part of that special world, and a whole new set of adventures.

Weeks after Aiden was returned to his own world, Elisa is sent to Nysa, the revered Southern city, to retrieve the one thing she’d rather avoid – Wolf. Captain Turk instructed her to get in and get out - but that is easier said than done. When she finds her missing friend, she also stumbles upon a great deal of trouble. This trouble goes by one name – Markus, the leader of the Sun People.

Follow all your favourite characters as they ready themselves for battle and fight for a world threatened to be destroyed.

My Review:

Eden – West by Janelle Stalder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Janelle Stalder has outdone herself in the sequel to Eden, Janelle’s writing is fantastic and Eden-West will not disappoint anyone who is reading this series. When I picked up Eden-West, I found I couldn’t stop reading it till I reached the very end. It’s an outstanding read!

Aiden once again is back in Eden, though he is not with his friends from Eden, we are introduced to some new characters but of course we do get to see our favorites Elisa, Logan and Wolf. Eden-West is filled with suspense, mystery, action and romance. I really enjoyed how the story is written, and how you get to see what everyone is doing, even though they are not all together. It really shows us readers how excellent Janelle’s writing capabilities are, she out did herself and I loved Eden-West. You the reader gets to experience what is going on with our favorite as its told in their point of view and it is superb story telling.

I have rated Eden-West 5 star rating, the writing; the plot and all the character are written excellent that this book deserves no less then top ratings. I would recommend anyone reading this to go purchase Eden and Eden-West.

Interview with Janelle Stalder:

Now, enjoy the interview!

1. Did you always want to be a writer? And what inspired you to write?

I think writing was always that “dream job” for me. I developed a love of literature at an early age, and writing became a hobby of mine. I wasn’t serious about it until my early twenties, but it’s definitely something I’ve always wanted to do.

2. How would you describe Eden-West?

The Eden series is really about a young boy finding out who he is, and building his strengths. It is a coming of age story, and really focuses on believing in yourself and your abilities. Eden-West continues the story of Aiden and his adventures in the world of Eden. We get to see him grow more confident and build deeper relationships with the characters of this fantasy world.

3.  Which character did you have most fun writing?

Honestly I liked all of them for different reasons. Aiden, because he shows the most growth, and lets me really play on insecurities and overcoming them. Elisa is that strong female character that lets me fight against the stereotypes of females, and be completely kick ass lol Logan is my comedian, so he lets my dry humour show. Wolf is complicated, so I have fun with all his dimensions. Rose and Callum are fun just because they are full of so much controversy.

4. What was your main source of inspiration for the story?

I’m not really sure. It was just an idea I got one day, and the more I went over it in my head, the more I knew I had to write it. I liked the idea of having a main character that wasn’t popular or naturally athletic. It let me show others that believing in yourself and finding the courage to take chances can really change things.

5.   What should readers expect from Eden-West?

Eden-West is full of more action, more adventure, and definitely more romance.

6.   How did you come up with the title of your book?

I knew I wanted something simple, and easily recognizable and memorable. Eden just sort of popped in my head and I instantly knew that it was perfect.

7.   What books have influenced your life most?

I don’t think there has ever been a book that really influenced my life per say. Maybe if I read non-fiction something might have impacted me, but I hate non-fiction lol I like my fantasy.

8.   What are your current projects?

Right now I am working on some of the edits for book three, and I’m starting to write book four. I also have another series in mind that I’d like to start once I’m finished this one. Then there is an old series I wrote that I’m considering publishing, so all in all I’m pretty busy when it comes to current projects!

9.   Do you see writing as a career?

If I’m lucky yes!

10.  When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I think I’ve always wanted to be one, but it wasn’t until I went ahead with publishing this series that I realized it was actually possible!

11.   As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

It was always a tossup between being a writer and being an archaeologist.

12.   When and why did you begin writing?

I’ve always written things here and there, but it wasn’t until about four or five years ago that I started to take it seriously. I knew it was something that I really loved and was passionate about. I’m glad I took the chance and started down this path, because I’m loving every minute of it.

13.   Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

Yes I do. They are always super supportive and nice. There are a few that I keep in close contact with on a regular basis. It’s to the point where we’re not even talking about the series, but just about personal things. I love that I’ve been able to make so many new friends. I love hearing from my readers!

14.   Where do you hope to take your writing in the future?

I would love if my books hit some of the best seller lists, but for now I’m just taking it a day at a time.

15.   What were your feelings when your first novel was accepted/when you first saw the cover of the finished product?

I was absolutely thrilled and excited. When I held the first paperback copy, I couldn’t believe that I had actually done it. I hope that sort of excitement never gets old.

Any last thoughts or words of wisdom you would like to share with the readers?

Just to keep reading and writing. If you’re trying to be a writer, just remember to believe in yourself and don’t give up!
